Ethan Vincent is an Emmy-award winning documentary storyteller with strong commercial sensibilities. In addition to longer format documentaries, he has produced and directed over hundreds of shorts for clients such as the LEGO Group, Red Bull, Alphatauri, Clinique, Nivea, Generali, Microsoft, Franklin Covey, Siemens and d&b audiotechnik.

Ethan captures subjects with a spontaneous visual style, compelling authenticity and emotion. His skill set ranges from writing to producing to shooting to hands-on editorial.


BIO

The son of an opera singer, Ethan frequently moved within the United Stated during his childhood. At the age of eight, his family relocated to Germany and finally Austria. After completing his formal education in Vienna along with two years of Theatrical Studies at the University of Vienna, Ethan returned to the US to complete his BA in film directing in Utah.

Ethan’s recognition as an editor and storyteller began with his work on the documentary Truth & Conviction, the story of one of the youngest German Resistance Groups in Hamburg, Germany. In November 2003, Ethan was hired as an Associate Editor and After Effects artist at Sony Pictures Animation to work on their first animated feature Open Season. The following year, Ethan worked as the editor on two feature films, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend and Everything You Want.

Moving into the documentary genre, Ethan directed several docs for PBS affiliate stations, including The Romney Code: The Life and Ethics of George W. Romney, which aired in 2008 and won an Emmy in the Historical Documentary category. For The Soul of Kalaupapa: Voices of Exile, Ethan worked over two years to tell the story of the last Hansen’s Disease (leprosy) patients on the island of Moloka'i, Hawai'i. For the company Health Catalyst, Ethan teamed up with producer and filmmaker Nathaniel Hansen to create several documentaries, including From the Heart about the rise of innovative Healthcare in India and the Cayman islands.

Ethan is the executive producer, show runner and director of the TV series artFUL, now in Season 4, featuring international artists. In addition, he currently produces & co-hosts the podcast Bits N’ Bricks for the LEGO Group.

A world traveler, Ethan currently resides in Vienna, Austria with his wife and four kids.
